OpenAI launches AI for Educators course in Portuguese and highlights Study Mode

OpenAI has launched the AI for Educators course in Brazilian Portuguese on OpenAI Academy, its free learning platform. Designed for educators in primary, secondary, and higher education, the course demonstrates how to use AI for lesson planning, activity creation, assessments, and communications while maintaining pedagogical judgment.

The announcement also highlights Study Mode, a feature developed with teachers and pedagogy experts to encourage active participation. By selecting Study from the tools menu in ChatGPT, users can explore subjects step-by-step with questions, hints, and checks for understanding rather than receiving direct answers.

The feature supports specific classroom workflows, such as a student asking to be quizzed on enzymes one question at a time, or a teacher using evaporation examples to help students formulate their own explanations. These tools aim to support teachers in guiding students from initial attempts to true understanding.
