Privacy Policy

The Service collects the following personal information when you sign up, sign in, and use content.

• Required: email address, password (stored with one-way encryption), nickname (entered at sign-up)
• Social sign-in: when you sign in with Google or GitHub, the email, profile name, profile image, and similar information that the platform provides
• Collected automatically: IP address, browser type, access time, cookies, and usage records (articles read, likes and dislikes, bookmarks, favorite sources)
• Optional: the subject and message you enter in a contact or suggestion, the URL and description you enter when sharing a post, and, if you agree, your email for author attribution

When a shared post you submitted is approved, your email may appear on that post's page for author attribution only if you agreed to it when submitting. You can ask us to remove it through the contact page.

The Service is not directed at children under 14, and children under 14 cannot sign up. If we find that a user is under 14, we delete that information without delay.

Some records, such as recent searches, are not stored on our servers. They stay only in your browser (localStorage) and do not sync to other devices.

If you move from the support page to an external sponsorship platform and pay there, that platform handles your payment information under its own terms and privacy policy. The Service does not collect or store payment information such as card or bank account numbers.

• Identifying and authenticating members and preventing abuse
• Personalization such as bookmarks, likes and dislikes, read markers, and favorites
• Notices needed to run the Service, such as announcements and operational changes
• Statistics to improve the Service, in a form that does not identify individuals
• Responding to violations of the law or our terms

As a rule, we delete your personal information as soon as you delete your account.

• Member information (email, nickname, authentication data): until you delete your account
• Usage records (bookmarks, likes, favorites, and similar): until you delete your account
• Access and analytics records: deleted according to the retention setting, 180 days by default
• Where the law requires separate retention, kept separately for that period

The Service does not give your personal information to outside parties, except in the following cases.

• When you have agreed in advance
• When investigative authorities request it through lawful procedures under the law

The operator runs and manages the infrastructure for member authentication and data storage directly and does not outsource the processing of personal information to other businesses. Personal information that the Service processes directly is not transferred outside Korea.

However, when you click a support link you may go to an external sponsorship or payment platform such as GitHub Sponsors. The name, email, payment details, messages, and refund or dispute information you enter there are handled under that platform's policies, and they may be transferred abroad depending on where the platform is located and on your payment method.

If outsourcing or transfers abroad become necessary because our setup changes, we will announce it in this policy before it happens.

You can exercise the following rights at any time.

• Requesting access to, correction or deletion of, or suspension of processing of your personal information
• Requesting deletion of your personal information by deleting your account
• Withdrawing consent

You can do this yourself in the Service settings, or ask through the contact page (/contact) or the contact below. We act without delay unless there is a justifiable reason not to.

• Electronic files: permanently deleted so they cannot be recovered
• Paper documents: shredded or incinerated

Personal information whose retention period has passed or whose purpose has been fulfilled is destroyed without delay. Where other laws require it to be kept, it is stored separately in a different database.

The Service uses cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to save preferences such as theme and view mode. You can refuse cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work.

To measure promotion results, we use a random browser identifier cookie issued by our server and the channel, medium, campaign, content, and term (UTM) information of promotion links. We count return visits on later days and clicks on original links by campaign, and we do not store other URL query parameters in analytics records. The cookie and campaign attribution period is 30 days by default and is managed in our settings. If you delete cookies or use another browser, you are counted as a new visitor.
