Introducing the Agent Readiness score: Is your site agent ready

Cloudflare has unveiled the Agent Readiness score and isitagentready.com, which assess how well a site supports AI agents. Site owners can enter a URL to check support for standards such as robots.txt, sitemap.xml, Markdown content negotiation, Content Signals, Web Bot Auth, MCP Server Card, and API Catalog.

Cloudflare Radar scanned the top 200,000 domains, and the results were still low overall. robots.txt was nearly universal at 78%, but most were intended for search engines, while Content Signals stood at only 4%, and sites supporting text/markdown responses reached just 3.9%. MCP Server Cards and API Catalog (RFC 9727) together were observed on fewer than 15 sites across the entire dataset.

The score is calculated across four axes.

• Discoverability: robots.txt, sitemap.xml, Link Headers (RFC 8288)
• Content: Markdown for Agents
• Bot Access Control: Content Signals, AI bot rules in robots.txt, Web Bot Auth
• Capabilities: Agent Skills, API Catalog, OAuth server discovery (RFC 8414, RFC 9728), MCP Server Card, WebMCP

For each failed item, Cloudflare also provides prompts that a development agent can implement immediately. It has also added an Agent Readiness tab to its URL Scanner, and revamped its own Developer Docs with an index.md-based Markdown fallback and agent-friendly structure, directly demonstrating a direction that reduces the cost of consuming and navigating documentation.
