Claude Design

Anthropic Labs has unveiled Claude Design. It is a research preview built on Claude Opus 4.7, available to Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers.

This tool supports a workflow where users create a first version of visual work—such as designs, prototypes, slides, and one-pagers—from just a text description, then refine it through conversation.

The core features are as follows.

• Automatic design system application: During onboarding, it reads codebases and design files to learn the team's colors, typography, and components.
• Diverse inputs: You can bring in text prompts, images, documents (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX), and codebases.
• Web capture: You can pull in elements from websites to create prototypes that look like real products.
• Fine-grained editing: Quickly make edits with inline comments, direct text editing, and sliders for adjusting spacing/color/layout.
• Collaborative sharing: Supports organization-wide sharing, link-based view permissions, edit permissions, and group conversations.
• Export: Can be exported to internal URLs, folders, Canva, PDF, PPTX, and standalone HTML.
• Claude Code handoff: Completed designs can be packaged into a handoff bundle for building and passed to Claude Code.

Use cases are also concrete.

• Designers turn static mockups into interactive prototypes to quickly gather feedback and test.
• PMs sketch feature flows and hand them off to designers or Claude Code for implementation.
• Founders and AEs quickly turn rough outlines into brand-consistent decks.
• Marketers create landing pages, social creatives, and campaign visuals.

For Enterprise, the default setting is off, and admins can turn it on in organization settings. Usage counts toward the subscription limit, and extra usage is available if additional usage is needed.

Anthropic stated that it plans to open up more integrations going forward to connect with other tools that teams use.
