Kakao POPM Education Cohort 7 Operations Log: Strengthening Practical Problem-Solving Capabilities Through Structured Questioning

Kakao POPM education was operated over a total of 7 cohorts, continuously improving the curriculum based on feedback. The education focused on structuring already known concepts and connecting them to practice, using 'ventilation', 'connection', and 'structure' as keywords.

The main session contents were as follows:

1. Strategic Thinking: Practiced reconstructing concepts like MECE and LTV according to context and establishing 'team judgment criteria'.
2. Metric Analysis: Understood that metrics are the language connecting to problem definition and shifted perspectives on interpreting metrics suited to product characteristics.
3. Experiment Design: Utilized MASS conditions (Measurable, Attributable, Sensitive, Short-term) as a checklist and learned routines for interpreting failed experiments.
4. Product/Design: Approached UX design based on context rather than intuition, cultivating a habit of questioning through internal Kakao service case studies.
5. Execution Routine: Structured execution as a repeatable routine of 'problem definition → hypothesis → metrics → retrospective' rather than just releases.

After the education, many teams have improved their execution structures by moving beyond sensory feedback after releases, specifying post-deployment metric check cycles, and establishing routines for regular retrospectives and priority adjustments.
