Kakao OLIVE Cuts Manual Mapping by 95% with AI Integration; License Review Time Drops from 60 to 10 Minutes

Kakao introduced AI agents into its open-source automation management system 'OLIVE' as part of its AI-native transformation to enhance the verification process. Previously, 'manual mapping'—where developers directly linked open-source components—was essential due to indirect dependencies in large-scale projects. However, the application of MCP (Model Context Protocol)-based AI agents reduced the manual mapping items requiring user action by an average of 95%. Additionally, applying LLM-based AI agents to approximately 1,350 unreviewed licenses shortened the review time from an average of 60 minutes to under 10 minutes. During this process, 560 licenses with a risk level of 'MEDIUM' or higher were identified, improving management efficiency.
