Kakao to Host 4th Tech Meet on JDK 21 Virtual Threads and Message Ad Recommendation Platform

Kakao is holding its fourth public technical seminar, Kakao Tech Meet #4. This event aims to build networks with the developer community and share technology.

The main presentation topics are Virtual Threads in JDK 21 and Kakao's message ad recommendation platform Quras. The Virtual Threads session covers the background of the feature's creation, its structure, usage, and performance test results, focusing on improving throughput for Java and Kotlin server developers.

The Quras session introduces a new architecture (v2) that overcomes the limitations of the existing v1, along with large-scale traffic handling, MLOps, and recommendation system improvement cases. The presenters are developers from the Kakao AI Platform Engineering team and the Message Ad Recommendation Platform Cell.

The event will be held on Tuesday, December 12, starting at 7 PM at Kakao Agit, connected to Pangyo Station. Offline attendance is limited to a subset of applicants, and confirmed attendees will be notified via KakaoTalk after December 5. An online live broadcast will be conducted to allow everyone to participate, and recorded videos of the presentation sessions are scheduled to be released on YouTube and the technical blog after the event concludes.
