Kakao Shares KakaoTalk Java Server Refactoring Experience at 2nd Tech Meet

Kakao shared its KakaoTalk Java App Server refactoring experience at the 2nd Kakao Tech Meet. The presenter, Soo.lee, reflected the nature of the work, which involved a high proportion of internal improvements, by organizing the part wiki and giving internal Tech Talk presentations before expanding it to an external event.

The presentation was not merely a list of technologies but structured three blog posts into a single context of large-scale refactoring for live services. This was an attempt to deliver generalized examples and experiences not limited to the KakaoTalk server.

The presenter recalled that sharing his experience and thoughts on real-world questions from the field during the panel discussion was very interesting. He also stated that he is preparing additional presentations on risky tasks such as changing the zero-downtime cache serialization method.
