Kakao Sponsors and Presents at the 3rd Mini Meetup of Kafka Korea User Group

The 3rd Mini Meetup of KafkaKRU (Kafka Korea User Group), sponsored by Kakao, was held on September 6, 2019, at the Samsung SDS Jamsil Campus. The event, attended by approximately 80 people, served as a venue for sharing news related to Apache Kafka and operational know-how.

Key Presentation Topics

The presentations covered global service query monitoring, understanding and optimizing Kafka Metrics, and case studies on developing large-scale monitoring platforms. Notably, attention was drawn to the issues and resolution processes encountered by Kafka as the central component of data flow in Kakao's KEMI (Monitoring As A Service) project.

Additionally, there was an introduction to Brooklin from the Apache Software Foundation, followed by practical experience presentations by representatives from major companies such as SK Telecom, Samsung SDS, and SK. After the event, souvenirs prepared by Kakao were distributed to participants, and efforts to expand the community were emphasized.
