Kakao Holds First Post-Merger Developer Contest Finals: 'Code Festival'

Kakao held the offline finals of its developer contest 'Kakao Code Festival', the first since the merger, on September 9. Approximately 100 participants who passed the preliminaries competed for 3 hours.

Final Problem Solutions and Difficulty

A total of 8 problems were presented in the finals, and every problem had at least one correct solution. Participants positively evaluated the problem composition based on Kakao Friends characters.

• Little Friends Sichuan: Exploring block removal paths (49 correct solutions)
• Tube's Blind Date: Exploring the shortest path under a total conversation time limit (47 correct solutions)
• Muscle Trainer Ryan's Dilemma: Optimizing locker placement based on gym reservations (12 correct solutions)
• Neo's Earrings: Calculating the number of rectangular earring cases when adding/removing points (5 correct solutions)
• Smart Prodo: Graph matching transformation problem (3 correct solutions)
• IU and Con's Board Game: Calculating the number of rubber band shapes (1 correct solution)

Results Announcement

According to the grading results, the top scorer solved 6 out of the 8 problems. As pre-announced, certificates and prize money were awarded to the top 21 participants who achieved excellent results, and various special awards were also prepared.
