Kakao Releases First Week of April 2016 Tech Newsletter... In-Depth Analysis of npm Gate

Kakao Tech Blog published the first week of April 2016 issue of its weekly newsletter for subscribers, 'Weekly Links'. The feature of this issue was the 'npm gate', detailing the dispute that arose when the messaging platform Kik requested developer azer to change a module name, npm's mediation process, and azer's unpublishing of all his modules. It particularly highlighted the situation where popular modules babel and atom indirectly depended on left-pad, causing builds of numerous ES6 applications to fail for about 2.5 hours.
