Create, edit, and share videos for free in Google Vids

Google Vids has significantly expanded its features to handle video creation, editing, and sharing all in one place. The core of this update is opening up high-quality video generation to all users for free, while connecting custom music, AI avatars, browser recording, and direct YouTube publishing.

If you have a Google account, you can generate video clips for free using Veo 3.1, the latest video generation model. Personal accounts get up to 10 free generations per month, with the option to upgrade for more usage if needed.

Music features have also been added. Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can use Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro to create custom soundtracks that match the mood of their video. Generation length supports from 30 seconds to 3 minutes.

AI avatars allow for more flexible handling of presenters in videos.

• Direct your avatars: Beyond static talking heads, you can place avatars in specific scenes and have them interact with uploaded objects.
• Customize their look: Change clothing, background, and appearance while keeping the voice and identity consistent.

Filming and distribution have also become simpler. The new Google Vids Screen Recorder Chrome extension lets you record your screen and yourself directly within your web browser, and finished videos can be exported straight to YouTube. In this case, the default export setting is set to Private.

Additionally, Google AI Ultra and Workspace AI Ultra accounts can generate up to 1,000 Veo videos per month. Google is expanding Vids into an orchestration hub-like tool so users can more easily turn ideas into videos and share them faster.
