Replit HQ Live Part 2

Agent 4 is designed to let you create, split, and merge ideas within a single workspace and push straight through to launch. In this Part 2 of the live event, the team explained in person how parallel work, design collaboration, version control, and deployment flows all fit together.

Peter took on merge conflict resolution, the core challenge of parallel tasks. Even when multiple agents touch the same files and functions at the same time, the model understands intent and automatically resolves 90% of conflicts, leaving only the remaining 10% for the builder to make the final call. Before executing tasks, it first identifies dependencies—for example, making sure an admin page isn't built before a login system exists—sets the right order, and then processes tasks in parallel.

Users don't choose the model themselves. In practice, a pipeline of models with different roles—exploration, testing, parallel sub-agents—operates behind the scenes, and builders only control the overall flow through economy / pro / power modes.

Haya Odeh pointed to the long-standing disconnect between design and engineering. With Infinite Canvas, designers can prototype in the same environment as engineers, and that prototype becomes the actual code and product. She also emphasized that a wide range of people—fashion designers, nutritionists, chefs—are building on Replit.

Jacob redesigned the collaboration experience. Now you can see in real time who's working on which task, what's been merged into main, and what's still in progress. Like Google Docs, teams can view each other's work within the same project and go in to review it, and inviting people to Core or Pro projects doesn't incur per-seat costs for collaborators.

Adi focused on making branching feel natural. When you start a new task, an isolated copy of the project is created in the cloud, the agent works in that copy, and then the changes are applied to the original. Because this isolated environment spins up in seconds thanks to micro VMs, branching feels almost instant.

Amjad Masad described Agent 4 as the destination of a mission the company has pursued for a long time. In the past, even launching a website required complex tools like React and Webpack, but now you can bring just an idea and carry it all the way from prototype to mobile app, marketing site, launch video, and monetization in one place. As a real-world example, he introduced FireCrown Media, which built marketing automation with Replit, cut over $1 million in annual overhead, and used those savings to hire new AI-native talent.
