Major update for KDE apps

KDE has released Gear 26.04. This release marks KDE's 30th anniversary, and it brings feature and UI improvements across several core apps.

Dolphin now lets you assign keyboard shortcuts to options in almost all menus, plugins, and extensions. This makes it faster to switch between frequently changed tasks like file sorting methods.

The personal information management apps also received a lot of attention.

• Merkuro Calendar: The schedule view and event editor have been redesigned, offering a more modern UI and more information
• KOrganizer: The screen layout is more organized, with improved information density
• Itinerary: Improved dialogs, added Swiss travel information

Kdenlive's editing workflow has notably improved.

• Added animation preview to Compositions
• Support for monitor mirroring to external displays
• Import clips directly into the project from the timeline right-click menu
• Zoom option based on mouse position
• Automatic generation of audio thumbnails for sequences
• When a transition is dropped, it automatically adjusts to fit the length of surrounding clips
• Ability to change the playback speed of multiple clips at once

Elsewhere, AudioTube got a new welcome page, KClock now supports a mobile lock screen overlay, and NeoChat added a rich text editor and threads feature.

The new packages will be rolled out gradually to some distributions and app stores, and the source code is available for immediate download and building.
