Software development is evolving from manual editing to an era where agents write code. Cursor 3 provides a unified workspace for collaborating with agents in line with this trend.

Moving beyond the existing VS Code fork approach, it has built a new agent-centric interface from the ground up. Key features are as follows:

• Multi-workspace: Humans and agents can work across multiple repositories.
• Parallel agent execution: Manage local and cloud agents from the sidebar, and consolidate tasks started from various environments such as mobile, web, and Slack.
• Local-cloud handoff: Use Composer 2 to bring cloud tasks to local for testing, or leave long-running tasks to the cloud to run even while offline.
• Workflow integration: Review changes through a new Diff view, and handle everything from commits to PR management in one place.

It also enables website browsing via a built-in browser and expansion through MCP and various plugins via the Cursor Marketplace. Cursor plans to continue advancing its agent-centric development environment until codebases reach a self-driving stage.
