Stripe Projects Adds New Agent Integrations, More Providers, and Custom Developer Controls

Recently, the share of agents in internet traffic has surged sharply, with about 40% of Stripe API documentation traffic now being generated by agents. To enable agents to go beyond writing code and directly build software, Stripe has significantly expanded infrastructure provisioning and management capabilities through Stripe Projects.

Key updates include the following:

• Expanded agent integrations: Agents such as Hermes, Factory Droids, and Warp can now provision infrastructure directly through Stripe Projects. In particular, when combined with Hermes, agents can maintain context across sessions, enabling continuous collaboration.
• Support for 49 providers: 16 new providers have been added, including Metronome (usage-based billing), Wix (storefronts), and ClickHouse (LLM observability). Agents can now handle everything from product launch to billing and monitoring without human intervention.
• Powerful developer controls: To prevent risks arising from agents' autonomous activity, the following security and management tools are provided.
  • Unified cost management: View per-project costs across all providers in one place
  • Per-provider spend limits: Set custom spending caps for specific services
  • Named Environments: Create isolated credentials for Dev, staging, and Prod environments to protect production environments
  • Delegated permissions for platforms: Support for platforms to set up infrastructure on behalf of users

Stripe plans to add deeper security features needed as agents act autonomously, as well as a data layer to measure and bill for the services agents use.
