A Look Inside Kakaopay's Developer Festival (KPGP)

Kakaopay held the Kakaopay Developer Festival (KPGP) for tech-role crews to look back on the past year and design the future, running it both online and offline simultaneously.

At this festival, a Cafeton (Hackathon) was held to boost work productivity. In line with the adoption of Slack, the following novel Slack bots received award honors.

• Jordy Meeting Bot: Provides meeting information and convenience features
• Variable Name Recommendation Bot: Solves developers' variable naming struggles
• Emoticon Studio: Creates custom emoticons with in-house security considerations in mind

In the session sharing the direction of the tech organization, the 2022 retrospective and the 2023 technology roadmap were presented. Kakaopay's tech organization has been striving to balance service growth with platform stability, and in 2023 it plans to move forward with maturity, efficiency, and visualization as its core keywords.

In the Q&A session, an in-depth discussion took place on resolving technical debt. Leadership acknowledged the impact of technical debt on service speed and emphasized the need to allocate at least 20% of resources to resolving technical debt and pursuing new attempts.
