Scaling Codex to enterprises worldwide

Codex's weekly users grew from over 3 million in early April to over 4 million in just two weeks. Beyond adoption by individual developers, companies are rapidly putting it into real engineering workflows.

Several companies are already using Codex across various areas. Virgin Atlantic uses Codex to expand test coverage and improve team velocity, Ramp to accelerate code review, Notion for new feature development, Cisco to understand large interconnected repositories, and Rakuten for incident response.

To scale this further, OpenAI is launching Codex Labs. OpenAI experts go directly into organizations to run workshops and working sessions, helping determine where Codex fits, how to attach it to existing workflows, and how to turn early usage into repeatable deployment.

OpenAI is also partnering with major global systems integrators (GSIs). Current partners include Accenture, Capgemini, CGI, Cognizant, Infosys, PwC, and TCS, who take on the role of identifying high-value Codex use cases across their clients' software development lifecycles and moving pilots into production deployments.

Codex's scope of application isn't limited to writing code either. With support for browser-based tasks, image generation, memory, and persistent work spanning multiple tools and apps, it is expanding beyond engineering into non-development work such as drafting documents, briefs, checklists, and organizing follow-up tasks.
