Anthropic Developing Always-On Agent with UI Extension Features

Conway is an always-on agent environment Anthropic is developing internally, and it will likely later be built directly into the Claude UI. It's structured to let users converse in a separate tab, add extensions, manage connectors and webhooks, and fine-tune permissions. The codename may change before launch, but it appears to be one of the product surfaces the company is pushing most aggressively.

A recent iOS build has brought in the full settings screen previously seen on desktop. This means mobile will now be able to handle the following features as well.

• Installing extensions
• Managing connectors and webhooks
• Selecting the model to run the agent
• Controlling container lifecycle
• Fine-tuning tool calls

New "Installed" and "Built-in" sections have also appeared in the web sidebar. Combined with the fact that upgraded extensions can load custom UI tabs, Claude's always-on agent is starting to resemble a launcher that runs mini-apps alongside the main conversation. According to the article, power users are already building similar workflows on top of OpenClaw, and Anthropic's native version seems aimed at turning that pattern into a standard feature. No public launch date has been announced yet.
