AWS Transform – continuous modernization (preview) autonomously and proactively reduces technical debt

AWS announced AWS Transform – continuous modernization (preview), which can continuously and autonomously analyze and resolve technical debt in large-scale environments. Previously, multiple separate tools had to be used to manage dependency issues, security vulnerabilities, and code quality, but this feature enables integrated management of all of these.

This feature provides the following core capabilities:

• Continuous Analysis: Automatically scans code repositories against configured baselines to identify dependencies approaching end-of-life (EOL) or outdated frameworks within hours. Organizations can also set custom policies for their own coding standards or library policies.
• Autonomous Remediation: Automatically generates Pull Requests (PRs) for identified technical debt. It provides ready-to-apply fixes for common scenarios such as Java version upgrades, SDK migrations, and library updates.
• Integrated Security Management: Integrates with AWS Security Agent, allowing source-code-level security vulnerabilities to be prioritized and fixed within the same workflow.

Development teams simply need to review and merge the generated PRs, and once the fix is complete, the system automatically detects this and updates the technical debt status.
