HauhauCS Faces Plagiarism Allegations Over Heretic

Allegations have emerged that the abliteration package for uncensored models by HauhauCS, which has recorded over 5 million downloads per month on HuggingFace, was copied without authorization from the Heretic (AGPL-3.0) project.

As a result of the analysis, the deleted source code was recovered and compared, confirming the following concrete evidence of plagiarism:

• Code match: All 7 module file names from Heretic v1.2.0 match exactly, and over 30 pieces of code are identical character-for-character, including typos in the refusal markers.
• Structure and naming: Over 30 function and class names, such as get_readme_intro and DatasetSpecification, are identical, and internal variable names (good_residuals, bad_residuals) also match Heretic.
• Algorithm replication: The analysis pipeline using geometric median calculation and PaCMAP rotation matrices is reproduced identically step by step.

HauhauCS had claimed that this methodology was a "personal, private tool," but this investigation revealed circumstances indicating that Heretic's code was used without attribution, violating its license.
