Samsung Electronics Introduces ChatGPT and Codex to Its Employees

To accelerate AI adoption, Samsung Electronics is rolling out ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to all employees in its Device eXperience (DX) Division worldwide and to all employees in Korea. This is expected to be recorded as one of the largest enterprise deployments in OpenAI's history.

Samsung Electronics plans to use AI across a wide range of roles—including software development, marketing, product development, and manufacturing—to boost productivity and problem-solving capabilities. ChatGPT Enterprise supports safe AI use within the company's security policies through data protection and security control features.

Codex is used not only for developers' code writing and debugging, but also for non-technical staff to quickly turn ideas into software or automated workflows. In fact, Codex's weekly active users (WAU) in Korea have surged approximately 800% since February 2026.

The collaboration between the two companies is expanding beyond AI infrastructure into changes in how work is done. Samsung Electronics continues its collaboration to supply advanced memory semiconductors needed for next-generation AI infrastructure to OpenAI.
