Anthropic Launches Claude Connectors

On April 28, Anthropic announced Claude for Creative Work, unveiling a new set of connectors for using Claude inside creative software.

• The targets are Blender, Autodesk Fusion, Adobe Creative Cloud, Affinity by Canva, Ableton, Splice, SketchUp, and Resolume.
• The connectors are built on MCP, designed to let Claude read the state of external tools and perform tasks.
• According to the official description, Claude supports the following:
  • Learning complex tool usage
  • Writing scripts, plugins, and generative systems
  • Connecting pipelines across design/3D/audio
  • Idea exploration via Claude Design and handoff to Canva
  • Automating repetitive production work such as batch processing

The Blender connector, in particular, enables scene debugging, batch edits, and even adding new tools for the UI via the Python API. Anthropic also joined as a patron of the Blender Development Fund, and stated that since this connector runs on top of MCP, it is open to other LLMs as well.

On the education front, Anthropic is providing Claude and the new connectors to the creative computing programs at RISD, Ringling College, and Goldsmiths. Anthropic explained that these features are already available in Claude's connector directory.
