Former Harvard Scientist Rebuilds BCI Lab in China

A former Harvard University scientist, who was convicted by the U.S. government on charges of unauthorized research collaboration with China, is resuming research activity by establishing a new lab for brain-computer interface (BCI) research in China.

This move illustrates the movement of talent and research assets in the critical field of Neurotechnology, amid intensifying U.S.-China competition over technological dominance and science and technology security issues.

The scientist previously conducted nanotechnology and biology research at Harvard, but faced legal punishment over issues related to a Chinese talent recruitment program.
