OpenAI Links ChatGPT to OpenClaw

OpenAI has connected ChatGPT subscriptions as the authentication and billing layer for the open-source AI agent framework OpenClaw, allowing Plus users to log in via OAuth and run agents based on GPT-5.4. On April 4, 2026, Anthropic blocked Claude Pro/Max subscriptions from being used with third-party agent frameworks like OpenClaw. The reasoning was that agents generate far more calls than regular chat, making flat-rate plans unsustainable.
