Anthropic tests Jupiter-v1-p ahead of developer conference

Anthropic appears to have started new red teaming on an internal build called Claude Jupiter V1. Jupiter V1 is an internal-only handle that doesn't appear in public API strings or product UI.

The timing stands out. Anthropic is holding its Code with Claude developer conference on May 6 in San Francisco, followed by stops in London and Tokyo. Given last year's precedent where the Neptune pre-launch check led to the Claude 4 release a few weeks later, there's speculation that a similar sequence could play out again this time.

The current lineup has Opus 4.7 as the flagship, with Sonnet 4.7 and Haiku 4.7 not yet appearing. It remains unclear whether mid- and small-sized model updates will come first, or whether a new generation based on Mythos, mentioned in earlier reports, will follow. If released, it could be deployed together across the Anthropic Platform, Claude Code, and consumer apps, and this red team effort is also tied to Anthropic's responsible scaling policy, including jailbreak probes and constitutional classifier stress tests.
