Show HN: Oberon System 3 runs natively on Raspberry Pi 3 (with ready-made SD card)

Oberon System 3 runs natively on the Raspberry Pi 3b.

Along with screenshots of it running, a ready-to-flash SD card image (oberon-rpi3.img) is provided. On Linux it can be flashed with dd, and on Windows/Mac with Raspberry Pi Imager or Etcher.

Build materials have also been released.

The primary target is the Raspberry Pi 3b, and the author explains it will likely also work on the Raspberry Pi 2b (v1.2 or later) and Zero 2. The three models share almost the same hardware architecture and are still available to order. The author notes that the Raspberry Pi 3b is expected to remain in production until at least 2028, and the Zero 2 until at least 2030.

In an earlier stage, an MVP for ARMv7 was first brought up on QEMU's raspi2b environment, at which point the kernel, numerics, file system, display, USB, and Math driver had all been ported to 32-bit ARM. At the time, the full build took under 1 minute, and on the i386 version the full build took around 51 seconds, both very fast.

The next goal is to move on to JTAG debugging on real hardware, and then, if possible, port the Ethernet network driver as well.
