Google AI search adds sources

Google is attaching excerpts from web forums like Reddit, blogs, and public discussions to AI Overviews and AI search, showing more source context alongside answers.

• Links will display the author name, handle, and community name together.
• It pulls in public discussions, social media, and first-hand accounts to broaden the perspectives referenced for niche questions.
• A feature highlighting links connected to a user's news subscriptions is also being added.

However, AI search can still hallucinate, so even with citations attached, source authenticity should still be verified separately.
