ByteDance's Seedance 2.5, Capable of Generating 3-Minute AI Videos, Is Imminent

ByteDance is preparing to launch Dreamina Seedance 2.5. Current industry rumors point to a July 9 release, which will be served through the Dreamina and CapCut platforms.

The core of this update is a dramatic expansion in video generation length. Moving beyond the previous focus on short clips, it supports the following workflow:

• Generating 30-second videos in standard mode
• Producing 90-second drafts
• Generating final outputs up to 180 seconds (3 minutes) long

Beyond simply extending length, Seedance 2.5 aims to stably maintain character identity, motion, camera logic, and prompt intent even when extending videos.

This signals an evolution beyond a simple short-form generation tool into a full-fledged long-form storytelling tool for creators and advertisers. This is interpreted as a strategic move to close the gap with competing models such as Google's Veo and Gemini Omni.
