Google Testing New Gemini Inbox Feature to Streamline Workspace Productivity

It has been revealed that Google is building a dedicated Inbox section inside the Gemini app for Business and Workspace customers. This feature provides three filters that let users sort items into those needing follow-up, those completed, and those pending review.

The core of this update is not simply displaying emails, but bringing Gmail messages into the Gemini interface to implement an Inbox Zero workflow. In particular, the 'Needs review' filter functions as an AI agent that sorts emails alongside data from connected sources into a structured to-do list.

This aligns with Google's existing AI features, including:

• Gemini Spark: A background agent that archives newsletters and suggests follow-up actions
• Gmail AI Inbox: Surfaces deadlines and action items at the top
