OpenAI has flipped the script

OpenAI Codex is now establishing itself as a tool better suited for real-world work than Claude Code. Backed by GPT-5.5 and a desktop app that's faster and more powerful than Claude Desktop or Cowork, Dan Shipper and Austin Tedesco now handle much of their knowledge work in Codex.

Austin fed in Notion meeting notes, Slack threads, and templates to have it draft a GTM execution plan for a new product, and the output came out 80-90% complete. Dan also uses Codex for hiring, searching for candidates based on career trajectory rather than job titles.

To switch over from Claude Code, you can simply open your existing project folder, explain how you've been working, and have it review and adjust things to fit the Codex environment. You can fix mistakes on the spot, and any writing or editing skills you've saved as Markdown files can be carried over directly.
