legalize-kr is a project that archives South Korean statutes and case law into Markdown documents and Git Commit history, making it possible to track the change history of the data.

Key updates:

• Expanded data scope: In addition to existing statutes and case law, repositories for administrative rules (directives, regulations, notices, etc.) and local ordinances (ordinances, rules) have been added, broadening data coverage.
• Support for AI agents and developer tools:
  • A MCP (Model Context Protocol) server is provided, allowing LLMs and AI agents to directly call legal data.
  • Agent Skills (for Claude Code, Codex) have been added, enhancing usability for AI agents.
  • A CLI tool enables searching specific provisions and viewing amendment history without cloning the entire large-scale repository.
• Improved data precision: Parsing rules for statutory units (paragraphs, sub-items, etc.) have been refined, missing statutes such as the Commercial Act have been added, and the directory structure and metadata of case law data have been improved.

Developers can leverage the datasets and MCP server provided by this project to more easily build AI agents specialized in the legal domain.
