Vijaye Raji Joins OpenAI as Applications CTO with Statsig Acquisition

OpenAI is expanding the leadership of its Applications organization by acquiring Statsig. Through this acquisition, Statsig's founder Vijaye Raji joins as Applications CTO, reporting to Fidji Simo (CEO of Applications).

Vijaye Raji will oversee product engineering for ChatGPT and Codex, and will be responsible for core systems and product lines including infrastructure and Integrity. Drawing on his experience leading large-scale consumer engineering at Meta and his expertise as the founder of Statsig, he will lead the scaling of next-generation products.

Statsig is an industry-leading experimentation platform that supports A/B testing, feature flagging, and real-time decision-making. OpenAI plans to integrate Statsig's technology internally to speed up product experimentation and build more responsive user experiences.

After the acquisition is completed, Statsig employees will become part of OpenAI, but will continue to operate independently out of the Seattle office and will keep serving their existing customers.
