OpenAI Unveils Dedicated Controller for AI Agents

OpenAI has partnered with hardware brand Work Louder to unveil Codex Micro, a macropad dedicated to the coding agent (Codex). It is priced at $230.

Rather than having developers type code directly, this product is designed and optimized for an 'agentic workflow' in which users oversee and approve the work of multiple AI agents. Its key features are as follows.

• Agent Key: Through 6 RGB keys, you can check an agent's status (waiting, thinking, done, feedback needed, error, etc.) in real time via color.
• Physical manipulation interface: A joystick, dial, and command keys let you execute repetitive commands while minimizing context switching.
• Workflow optimization: Specific skills (plan mode, debugging, refactoring, etc.) are mapped to the four directions of the joystick, allowing complex tasks to be triggered with just a physical gesture.
