Grok Automations

Grok Automations is a feature where, once a user describes a task one time, Grok automatically executes it according to a set schedule or condition. It is available at grok.com/automations as well as on the iOS and Android apps.

Task descriptions are entered just like a regular chat message. After adding text, attachments, connectors, and skills, and selecting an execution method, saving it means that every time, the same instructions run a fresh request based on current data.

There are two execution methods. Schedule-based execution lets you set the desired time and time zone as one-time, daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly, or yearly. Email trigger execution monitors an incoming mailbox, and when a mail arriving matches the sender, recipient, and subject filters, it runs the automation using that email as context. Mentioning a connector with an @ symbol in the instructions means Grok uses that tool every time.

Each time an automation runs, it opens an actual conversation to perform the task and saves the result in the run history. You can open an individual run's result to read the full thread or continue the conversation. The reporting method can be set to email, app notification, both, or checking directly.

Automations can also be created directly from chat. Asking Grok, "Check the news every morning and show me anything related to prices," will set up an automation. The automations page also provides templates to get started. All automations can be paused, resumed, edited, or deleted at any time.

Regular automations are available to all users, while email triggers are provided to SuperGrok subscribers.
