Claude Introduces Monthly Credits for Agent SDK

Starting June 15, paid Claude plans will be billed dedicated monthly credits for programmatic usage.

These credits cover the following usage:

• Claude Agent SDK
• claude -p
• Claude Code GitHub Actions
• Third-party apps built on the Agent SDK

The key change is that programmatic usage is separated from interactive usage in chat/Claude Code. Existing subscription limits remain unchanged and are reserved solely for interactive usage.

Here's how it works:

• Once the monthly credits are billed, programmatic usage is automatically deducted from them.
• When the credits run out, if Usage credits is turned on, usage can continue at API rates.
• If Usage credits is turned off, usage is halted until the next reset.

The monthly credits by plan are as follows:

• Pro: $20
• Max 5x: $100
• Max 20x: $200
• Team Standard: $20/seat
• Team Premium: $100/seat
• Enterprise: varies by seat type

Credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over. Also, third-party tools built on the Agent SDK, such as Conductor and OpenClaw, work on Claude plans but consume these credits just like your own scripts.

Users will receive billing notice via email on June 8, and the actual change takes effect on June 15.
