FuriosaAI and Samsung SDS Launch Korea's First NPUaaS to Expand Enterprise AI Accessibility

FuriosaAI and Samsung SDS have partnered to launch NPUaaS (NPU-as-a-Service), a first among domestic cloud service providers (CSPs) in Korea. The service runs on the Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP) based on FuriosaAI's RNGD AI accelerator, helping enterprise and public sector customers easily access high-performance, low-power AI inference infrastructure.

Customers can deploy and scale generative AI and AI agent workloads through the cloud model without separate hardware management. Samsung SDS has deployed RNGD accelerators at its Dongtan data center, and users can subscribe on-demand by selecting configurations of 1, 2, 4, or 8 cards as needed.

Key features of the RNGD accelerator are as follows:

• High-performance inference: Supports the latest models including Qwen3 and OpenAI gpt-oss 120B
• Technical specifications: Built on TSMC's 5nm process with HBM3, delivering up to 512 TFLOPs (FP8) compute and 1.5 TB/s memory bandwidth
• Efficiency: Offers superior power efficiency compared to existing GPUs with low power consumption of 180W

Going forward, the two companies plan to accelerate NPU adoption through public sector security AI services, support for ISVs (independent software vendors) transitioning to production environments, and integration with Samsung SDS's AI Ops and API services.
