Claude for Small Business

Anthropic unveiled Claude for Small Business. It's a package that connects QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, Docusign, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365 to handle small businesses' finance, sales, marketing, HR, and customer service tasks.

In Claude Cowork, users connect tools and select tasks, and Claude executes them, with user approval required before sending, posting, or paying. The built-in offerings are 15 agentic workflows and skills for recurring tasks.

Representative scenarios include the following.

• Payroll planning: Cross-references cash position against PayPal settlement schedules to create a 30-day forecast.
• Month-end close: Reconciles books against settlement records, flags discrepancies, and drafts a P&L in plain English.
• Campaign execution: Analyzes HubSpot performance and generates Canva assets.
• Contract and invoice management: Handles Docusign, invoicing, disputes, and refund flows.

On the security side, existing permission structures remain intact, so Claude cannot see information that an employee wouldn't normally be able to see, and Team and Enterprise plans do not train on customer data by default.

Anthropic also launched a free AI Fluency for Small Business course together with PayPal, and will hold an SMB Tour for small businesses starting in Chicago on May 14th. The rollout also ties in partnerships with Workday Foundation, LISC, and CDFI to broaden small business adoption.
