Expanding Global Health Education

NextGenU believes that in global health education, delivery matters as much as content creation, and integrated ElevenLabs into its production workflow. The goal is to improve voice quality and consistency across online courses for global learners, onboarding for public health professionals, and mobile-first field training.

In learning that deals with complex topics, clear narration improves comprehension, while unstable audio breaks the learning flow. As demand for video-based learning grew, NextGenU needed a way to apply high-quality voice at scale across multiple courses without slowing down production.

ElevenLabs was used for the following:

• Course videos and lesson summaries
• Onboarding experiences
• Training that guides clinical procedures step by step
• Localized voice for global learners

In just three flagship courses alone, more than 5,000 learners have already engaged with voice-assisted learning.

How it was used varied by the nature of each course. In Critical and Systems Thinking, voice added context to narrative-style lectures in which an epidemiologist traces a real health crisis, while Naloxone Training used it to guide overdose recognition and response procedures step by step. Learners rated the videos as easy to understand and easy to follow, and also wanted more video content.

In Public Health U, multi-module videos covering epidemiology, nutrition, and health systems became the key interface for learners in low- and middle-income countries. In surveys, more than half named video as the most useful element, while only a small share felt it needed improvement. Reisha Narine noted that high-quality AI voiceover increases accessibility and engagement by catering to diverse learning needs.

The Jacaranda Health DELTA project delivered WhatsApp-based, low-bandwidth mobile learning for healthcare workers in sub-Saharan Africa. NextGenU applied voiceover with a Kenyan accent to make the content feel more familiar and trustworthy to learners, and became able to produce region-specific content faster and more affordably than before.

Ultimately, AI voice has become part of NextGenU's global education infrastructure. By supporting more courses, more languages, wider reach, and faster launches, it is turning education from mere information transfer into a comprehensible experience.
