AWS Weekly Roundup: AWS DevOps Agent and Security Agent Go GA, Product Lifecycle Updates, and More (April 6, 2026)

This week's AWS Weekly Roundup centers on the general availability (GA) of AWS DevOps Agent and AWS Security Agent. Building on the frontier agents concept introduced at re:Invent, AWS put the spotlight on agents that autonomously carry out multiple steps and keep working until the task is complete.

AWS DevOps Agent helps with incident investigation, reducing MTTR, and proactively preventing operational issues. United Airlines, Western Governors University, and T-Mobile are already using it, with preview results showing up to 75% lower MTTR and 3-5x faster resolution. At WGU, resolution time dropped from hours to minutes.

AWS Security Agent provides continuous, context-aware penetration testing across the development lifecycle. LG CNS, HENNGE, and Wayspring are using it, with LG CNS reporting testing speed increased by more than 50%, costs reduced by about 30%, and a significant decrease in false positives as well.

AWS also updated service availability changes as of March 31, 2026. It provides alternative paths and migration guidance for services in maintenance and sunset phases, and this list includes App Runner, Audit Manager, CloudTrail Lake, Glue Ray jobs, IoT FleetWise, ARC Readiness Check, some Comprehend features, some Rekognition features, SNS Message Data Protection, Service Management Connector, RDS Custom for Oracle, WorkMail, WorkSpaces Thin Client, and the upcoming end of Amazon Chime SDK - Proxy Sessions.
