Andrew Ng's Team Unveils Open-Source AI Agent OpenWorker

OpenWorker is an AI Co-worker project that goes beyond a simple conversational AI, directly operating the user's desktop apps, files, terminal, and SaaS to produce completed outputs.

Key features are as follows:

• Enhanced user control: It is not tied to a specific model provider, allowing users to directly select and connect OpenAI, Anthropic, Google APIs, as well as local models via Ollama.
• 3-layer architecture: Designed as a layered structure connecting the desktop app (GUI), a Python-based local agent server (Engine), and the user's resources (Files, Tools, Models).
• Tool integration and extensibility: It provides 25+ connectors by default, including GitHub, Slack, Jira, and Notion, and supports MCP (Model Context Protocol) for easy tool expansion.
• Safe execution: It is designed so that the agent must go through user approval (Human-in-the-loop) before executing commands or changing data.

Currently, Andrew Ng's aisuite team is participating in the development, and it is being distributed in an open beta stage.
