Anthropic has acquired Stainless. This acquisition is part of a broader move to expand Claude from an answer-generating model into an agent-centric platform, with a focus on strengthening data and tool connectivity.

What Stainless has done

• Since its founding in 2022, it has supported the creation of the official Anthropic SDK from the early days of the Anthropic API.
• Hundreds of companies use Stainless to build SDKs, CLIs, and MCP servers.
• It converts OpenAPI specs into natural SDKs across multiple languages, including TypeScript, Python, Go, Java, and Kotlin.
