Delivering the Future: Global Hackathon 2025, from Preparation to Operation

Delivery Hero held the Global Hackathon 2025 to connect the diverse brands it operates across more than 70 countries worldwide. With Berlin, Germany as the base camp, 7 entities, 60 teams, and about 270 members from technical roles participated, running for 2 nights and 3 days under the goal of 'Delivering the Future.'

Preparation for the event proceeded largely in three stages.

• Overall event planning: The schedule was finalized considering each country's public holidays and time zones, and to overcome physical limitations, an online-offline linked approach was adopted, using each entity's office as a base camp.
• Technical environment setup: An environment was created that allowed free experimentation while complying with security and GDPR regulations. In particular, through a partnership with Google Cloud, a Google AI-based environment was provided to support participants' technical experimentation.
• Establishing local operation plans: Regional base camps encouraged offline participation, and common design assets and goods were distributed to provide a unified brand experience anywhere in the world.

For this hackathon, the Woowa Brothers DR team participated as organizers, playing a role in connecting the global tech community. The final judging included Delivery Hero's global CTO and CPO, and a Google Cloud director, and the winning team was given the opportunity to attend Google Cloud Next 2026.
