How developers contribute to their company beyond their regular work (feat. Chukchuk Doctor Bot, Kakaopay Glossary)

Kakaopay, given its nature as a service combining finance and IT, has a vast amount of knowledge including financial terms, technical terms, and project codenames. However, glossaries were scattered across different teams, making it difficult for new hires and members to find information.

To solve this, they integrated the company's internal glossaries and developed the 'Chukchuk Doctor Bot,' which anyone can easily use, through '2022 Kakaopay Cafeton.' The key features of the development process are as follows.

• Data Management: They utilized Google Spreadsheets as a database to improve ease of management, and enhanced the completeness of the glossary through the collective intelligence of members.
• Development Environment: Instead of building a separate web server, they maximized development efficiency by implementing commands in JavaScript using the features of 'Chunsik,' the company-wide Slack bot.
• User Experience: They designed an intuitive layout where, when a user types in the format .. word, the bot immediately provides the category, description, reference links, and related/similar words.

This project was recognized for its achievement by placing 4th at the Cafeton, and it became an opportunity to evolve beyond a simple hackathon result into the company's official glossary.
