Inside Vercel's Internship

Vercel treats interns as core members of engineering teams rather than temporary visitors, making deploying products to production environments used by real users the core of learning.

The Winter 2026 intern cohort contributed to the development of Vercel's key products, including CDN, v0, financial infrastructure, and AI Gateway over four months, launching features used by millions of users.

Key achievements by Yash Kothari (CDN team):

• Project-level routing: Built a feature allowing routing rules (redirects, rewrites, etc.) to be updated via dashboard, API, CLI, and SDK without redeploying the project.
• Firewall & Security: Launched the vercel firewall CLI command for setting rules directly from the terminal and developed an AI-based firewall rule builder that generates rules from natural language.

Key achievements by Kavin Valli (v0 team):

• v0 platform features: Implemented folder and project management (CRUD), redesigned the library page, and added sharing controls, while enhancing version control completeness through manual commit functionality in the VM editor.
• Infrastructure optimization: Contributed to improving the cost efficiency of backend infrastructure by separating VM and sandbox infrastructure to build a cost-effective model.
