Claude Code Enhances Web Reading and Artifacts

The Claude Code 2.1.232 update significantly strengthens the agent's web navigation capabilities and Artifact processing features.

Key New Features:

• Web-reading agent: A dedicated WebFetch delegation flow has been added to generate source-grounded reports even from untrusted pages. Follow-up questions on read content are possible, and binary file handling is restricted to improve safety.
• Artifact component: A reusable Artifact decision component has been introduced for non-workshop HTML Artifacts. It includes design tokens, styles, markup, etc., and supports injection-safety constraints.
• System prompt and notification improvements:
  • Artifact comment quick acknowledgment: Provides short acknowledgment messages within 160 characters to distinguish between change requests and questions.
  • Conversation permission warnings: Strengthened permission warnings to ensure that edits or reactions within a conversation are not treated as new instructions or approvals.
  • Background monitor notifications: Added guidelines to send push notifications only when there are substantive changes, such as errors.

Removed Features:

• /code-review workflow routing and related system prompts
• The existing WebFetch summarizer
• VCS state change event schema
