In just a month it surpassed 43k views, receiving a flood of feedback, bug reports, and improvement suggestions, and as a result webclaw expanded in a bigger direction.

webclaw is a fast open-source content extraction tool built in Rust that takes a URL and returns it organized as Markdown, JSON, or plain text. It also features TLS impersonation to bypass fingerprinting blocks.

Claude Code was also actively used during development. It contributed significantly to scaffolding the extraction pipeline, integrating the QuickJS sandbox, and generating the test suite, and a separate MCP server for Claude was also built alongside it.

The update details are as follows.

• Official SDKs released: easier integration into existing codebases
• API private beta started: API opened up to handle large-scale scraping infrastructure
• License changed to AGPL 3.0: a measure to preserve the project's openness

The core tool remains free to use, and the full code is publicly available on GitHub.
