Google Testing Agent Management UI in AI Studio

Google is building a dedicated agent management section within AI Studio to efficiently manage the managed agents announced at I/O in May.

The new Workbench tab displays a list of available agents and provides a project switcher to filter the list by Google Cloud project. This suggests that agent definitions are linked to the billing and infrastructure of cloud projects rather than separate consumer-facing sandboxes.

Key features include:

• Agent creation flow and configuration screens (name, description, custom prompts, etc.)
• Per-agent file directory allowing users to add and edit files directly in the browser
• Agent configuration via a graphical editor instead of JSON payloads or terminal commands

Currently, this system uses the Antigravity harness runtime based on Gemini 3.6 Flash. This indicates that AI Studio is evolving beyond a simple prototyping stage into a platform that supports agent hosting and lifecycle management.
