Vercel for Slack Launches

Vercel announced that Vercel Agent, the AI teammate in the development workflow, now works in Slack. A public beta has begun for Pro and Enterprise teams; mentioning @Vercel in a chat channel generates responses based on platform context and converts team decisions into approvable changes.

This agent acts as the first responder for production apps. It investigates logs, metrics, and deployment status to identify root causes and propose fixes, and flags regressions or risky changes during PR reviews that do not surface even when CI passes.

Key features within Slack include:

• Problem Diagnosis: Incident investigation, error tracking, explanation of cost spikes, and Q&A related to the codebase.
• Coding with the Team: Fixing build and CI failures, PR reviews leveraging production runtime knowledge, and converting decisions in threads into tested PRs.
• Project Operations: Deployment rollbacks, configuration updates, feature flag management, and resolving abnormal usage.

It operates in read-only mode by default, with code or configuration changes made through plans that the user approves. This allows teams to handle the entire workflow within threads they are already discussing, reducing context-losing handoffs such as creating tickets or entering terminal commands.
