Anthropic's Project Parka Attends Meetings to Assign Tasks to Claude Agents

Anthropic is working on a project that integrates meeting recording capabilities into Claude Desktop, automatically converting action items discussed during meetings into tasks for Claude Cowork and Claude Code. The feature is internally codenamed Parka, and related contract information was found in a macOS package dated August 18, 2026.

Parka features a detailed contract structure supporting meeting recording, speaker-specific transcription, note and summary generation, and the extraction of structured follow-up tasks. It can record system audio, microphone audio, or a mix of both, and accepts calendar event metadata and transcription keywords to aid in recognizing company names and technical terms.

This feature is part of Anthropic's strategy to expand beyond chat into coding agents and desktop agents. Parka will provide both products with a new source of tasks: commitments made verbally during meetings. The feature is currently marked as unavailable in public builds, and it remains uncertain whether the name Parka will be retained upon final release.
